Free Parking Exemption for Electric Vehicles in Pilsen Ends

As of August 31, 2025, the exemption allowing electric vehicles to park for free in the city of Plzeň will come to an end. Until now, drivers of vehicles with special registration plates marked “EL” were not required to pay for parking in designated zones, but this benefit will expire. The City Council did not reach an agreement on extending the exemption.

Currently, just under 1,300 vehicles with EL plates are registered in Plzeň, out of a total of 116,000 passenger cars registered in the Plzeň-City District.
